Can we learn abundance?
In the following article we will discuss the relatively new creative
process known as manifesting. What is manifesting? And can we learn
abundance? Manifesting is all about embracing the abundance that
life affords each and every one of us. Abundance means getting
everything that we possibly can out of life and not settling for
things that will help us simply survive or things others expect out
of us. While this process does include a number of set techniques,
it is also highly adaptable and can be tailored to suit the needs of
any individual.
It may be helpful to those of you who are new to manifesting to
think of it as a life philosophy rather than simply a series of
self-help tips or techniques. In its simplest terms, manifesting is
about helping us achieve all of our personal and professional goals
in these confusing modern times.
Nowadays, far too many people settle for things that they do not
want far too early in life. They become discouraged after a setback
or two and give up on their life goals. They begin to think of their
dreams as unobtainable or the stuff of childhood fantasy. While it
is true that life has a way of making us compromise, this is one
instance where stubbornness and pigheadedness actually pay off. A
fine historical example of persistence in the face of endless
obstacles is Thomas Edison. If Edison had not been so relentless,
some might say obsessive about illumination, we might not have the
modern day light bulb.
Yes, of course, we must all live in the modern world. We must pay
our bills, work hard and follow the rules. But in a society that is
becoming ever more fragmented and specialized, everyone is expected
to have a place and a special area of expertise. This does not leave
much room for dreams.
But can we learn abundance?
As we mentioned, manifesting is a process or system. And the first
step is for you to ask yourself, honestly, what you want to
manifest? You must also honestly assess your situation in life,
which is not easy. Ask yourself, are you doing what you want to do
in life, or are you simply doing what you must? If you decide you
are simply doing what you must to survive, then you need to
dramatically alter your outlook on life.
One of the reasons why modern life is so confusing is because so
many of us are focusing on what we need to do rather than what we
truly want to do. And if we are not living the life that we desire,
we become lost in a cloud of confusion and chaos. We start surviving
rather than truly living. Manifestation is a simple tool that may
help us extricate ourselves from this confusion.
It may sound simple, but manifestation can help us clarify things;
and if there was ever a need for clarification it is in modern
times. What exactly is there not to be confused about nowadays? We
go to the supermarket and are greeted by a hundred different kinds
of cereals. We go to college and are asked to choose between a
thousand different majors. We emerge with a degree and are forced to
choose between a hundred thousand jobs, professions or careers.
For these reasons, many Americans fail to ask themselves these
questions to their own future detriment. Rather, they decide to set
their sights on making as much money as they possibly can and assume
that the rest will simply take care of itself. Unfortunately, much
later in life, these people come to realize that money did not solve
all their problems and that it has, in fact, failed to satisfy or
fulfill them. Oftentimes, money serves only to satisfy the needs of
those around us and leaves the money makers feeling empty and
wanting more.
As with most things in life, confidence and positive thinking are a
big part of manifesting your goals. It is not enough to simply know
what you want you must also truly believe that you can achieve these
goals. Whether we are talking about happiness in your personal or
professional life, it is essential that you believe that these
things are possible. For this reason, we must eliminate negative
thinking. Like the song says we must 'accentuate the
positive…eliminate the negative.' Because the simple truth is that
the more we focus on our failures and defeats the harder it will be
to envision our dreams and reach our full potential.
In the final analysis, the manifesting process is simple.
Step one: We must decide what it is we really want, both in our
personal and professional lives.
Step two: Focus on your successes and maintain a positive attitude.
Step three: Act. While it is easy and convenient enough to speculate
about your future planes and goals, you must eventually buckle down
and actually take a risk.
In the end, these techniques convey a simple message—you should not
be satisfied with the status quo. Again, we quote Thomas Edison who
said, 'Show me a thoroughly satisfied man and I will show you a
failure.' Edison understood that most people had to strife to
fulfill their dreams. He was living proof of that fact. He was smart
enough to know that life is filled with joy and pain, successes and
failure; and that satisfaction was simply another word for
indifference. He never stopped striving and neither should you.
