Is Abundance Teachable?
Learning to see and accept the abundance that exists every day requires participation in the creative process that is called manifesting. That may sound a bit like mumbo jumbo to those who have not heard of this relatively new technique, but it is a technique being used every day that teaches us to embrace all the world has to offer. It is not necessary to 'settle' in life or to simply 'get by'. We don't have to live according to what others expect of us. By embracing the concept that the world has more than enough for everyone, and open ourselves to what's right in front of us, we can manifest abundance in our own lives every day.
If you have never heard of manifesting, it might be helpful to think of it as an outlook on life or a philosophy of life, rather than a step-by-step process used by most self-help directives. Simply put, manifesting helps us to discover and achieve goals and dreams, both professional and personal.
Life seems overwhelming to many of us. Our dreams appear to be unobtainable. The hopes of our child lie like dust in the corner of our hearts. Too early in life, many people follow a path that is not their true desire and compromise too often in their life choices. Life is full of choices and sometimes we cannot have what we want. But persistence pays off in the end. All the great people of the world held on to their dreams until they came to fruition. Think of Thomas Edison. Had he not been obsessed with his search for light, we might still be living in the dark.
No one has a special time machine so it is a given that you must live in this modern world with all its constraints. Bills and work must be tended to and of course, you have to follow the rules. The problem is this society is becoming highly specialized and you are supposed to have this one place of special interest and expertise. Not much room for the dreamer in those confines.
Can we really change the way we think?
As noted earlier, manifesting is a process and it begins with asking ourselves what it is we want to manifest in our lives. This is not always easily answered. First, we must assess our lives and ourselves honestly. Are we doing what we want to be doing? Or are we just doing what we think we're supposed to do, or what is expected of us? If you find that you are doing only what you think you need to do or have to do, then it is time to make a change, particularly in your outlook.
Modern life is so confusing many times, because we as people are pursuing only what we need and forgetting about what we truly want. When you are not living the life of your desires, it is easy to become lost in chaos and confusion. Survival becomes the only goal and you do not truly live. The simple path out of this cloud of confusion is manifesting.
Manifestation truly can help us seen things more clearly despite the confusing times in which we live. And these are confusing times. Just consider the decision required when simply grocery shopping for everyday items such as cereal. We are faced with hundreds of different options in the cereal aisle alone, not to mention the rest of the store. Going to college requires selecting a major from thousands of majors and minors. When we graduate we have even more options in career and professions available to us.
Americans fail to ask themselves questions like these for many varied reasons but the end result is the same, failed future. Many believe they can simply work really hard to make more money while happiness and all the rest will take care on its own. It will be much later in life when the light bulb goes on and they realize money did not solve anything. They are unsatisfied and unfulfilled because most of the time money will only serve the needs of those around you.
Manifesting requires that we focus on our dreams, not our failures. The more we focus on our mistakes, the less clearly we can see our hopes and dreams and true desires, and the more difficult it is to achieve them. It is essential to think positively and to have confidence in our dreams and abilities. It doesn't matter whether your dreams are personal or professional, it is imperative to believe you can achieve them.
The process of manifesting is very simple.
*Decide exactly what you want, personally and professionally.
*Think positively and focus only on your successes
*Act. You must act on your dreams to achieve them. This means you must take the risks as well.
The message is quite simple: Do not be content with the status quo, especially if you are not living your dream life, and who is? Thomas Edison understood what was necessary to obtain his dreams. 'Show me a thoroughly satisfied man and I will show you a failure' he said. He understood that life was not always easy and that there would always be ups and downs, successes and failures, and perseverance and commitment to our dreams is what is needed to make life worth living.
